New mom Naomi Watts says she loved the "good classic lines" on the sleek Calvin Klein Collection dress she wore to a party she cohosted for the label in London Oct. 15.
Behind the Seams
My Name Is Earl's Jaime Pressly got a standing ovation at the runway show for her latest J'aime Collection Oct. 15 during L.A. Fashion Week. "I was going for sexy sophistication," the Emmy winner says of the line. Meanwhile, stars descended on Melrose Place in their red carpet best for the opening of designer Monique Lhuillier's boutique Oct. 10. "Monique's dresses are so feminine and delicate," says Heroes' Kristen Bell. "She knows how to design for petite women like me."...
BILLIONAIRE GIRLS CLUB
When Jessica Seinfeld's book Deceptively Delicious became a bestseller after her appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Seinfeld (wife of Jerry) decided that a plain old thank-you note wouldn't do: She sent Winfrey 21 pairs of luxe shoes—including several Christian Louboutins—to express her gratitude. "[They're] the most sick shoes," Winfrey gushed to Jerry on her Oct. 15 show, where he was promoting Bee Movie. Says a rep for the show: "Yeah, she kept them!" ...
THE POSH TREATMENT
Victoria Beckham's appearance on Ugly Betty doesn't air 'til Nov. 8, but here's a peek at her TV look. "The clothes were a collaboration between myself and the costume department," says Beckham, who plays one of Wilhelmina's (Vanessa Williams) bridesmaids. Betty costume designer Eduardo Castro used vintage and designer pieces for the star, who contributed her own belt and sunglasses to the ensembles. Says Castro: "She's probably one of the tiniest people I've ever fit."
HAYDEN'S DESIGN DEBUT
In addition to saving the world on Heroes, Hayden Panettiere has become head cheerleader for Dooney & Bourke—which has hired her to star in their holiday campaign and create her own indestructible bag. The budding fashionista took a break between gigs to chat.
What inspired you to create this bag?
I wanted to do something people haven't seen from Dooney & Bourke before, so my bag is red patent leather. It's funky and fun and it looks squeaky clean, sort of like a brand-new car. Patent leather is so chic. I love it! I also just got these dark-purple patent leather Givenchy pumps, which are to die for!
How would you describe your style?
My style is like my taste in music: all over the place. But the dress I have for the Golden Globes is almost the same as the one I wore to the Emmys.
Wow, you already got your Globes dress?
I had to! I had to put dibs on it because they said Angelina Jolie wanted it. So I had to. Who knows? I may not even be invited, so I'll have to wear it to the next awards show I go to.
You're becoming a paparazzi favorite.
It's difficult. I'm here to act, not to tell people what I do on a day-to-day basis. If I wanted that, I'd have a reality show. They wait for you to screw up and when you don't, they create something.
Somebody reported that Julia Roberts [her Fireflies in the Garden costar] said I had a lifesize cutout of Prince William in my trailer.
No! It's so off, it's ridiculous.
