Minutes before the start of his Oct. 6 wedding to Tara Fowler, Montel Williams looked around at the 62 friends and relatives gathering at Tucker's Point, a private nook on the Bermuda shoreline. As he thought back on the week's worth of activities leading up to the big event—including golf outings and a cruise on a 100-ft. yacht—his eyes welled up with tears. "Everything," he said, "turned out how we envisioned it."
That vision included the couple's 1-year-old toy poodle Mr. Max, serving as ring bearer, and one of Williams' four children, daughter Maressa, 18, doing bridesmaid duty. Then, just as the sun began to set, Fowler made her way down the sandy aisle in a custom-made Badgley Mischka gown, accessorized with a 57-carat diamond bracelet that Williams had given her three days before as an early wedding present. "We both bling pretty hard," he admitted.
They also share a fondness for Bermuda, which Fowler, 36, visited frequently during her days as an American Airlines flight attendant; last year, she surprised Williams, 51, with a trip to the island for his birthday, and the talk show host is now looking to buy a home there.
Already the couple have picked up on some local traditions: They exchanged their vows under a stone "moongate," believed to bring newlyweds good fortune. Williams—married twice before—said of bringing a moongate specially to the beach, "We hope that's extra good luck!"
