A rich novelist (Caine), whose wife has left him for a young actor (Law), summons his rival to his house, where the two play deadly cat-and-mouse games. A remake of a 1972 thriller (Caine had Law's part then), Sleuth allows its stars to display their full bag of tricks—which Caine and Law do with glee.
