John Mayer to Justin Timberlake: You Rock!
John Mayer never gushed publicly about Jessica Simpson or Minka Kelly, but he has no problem 'fessing his feelings for Justin Timberlake.
"Those of you who've known me for a while are probably familiar with my firm defensive stance when it comes to the state of pop music," Mayer writes on his blog. "I think pop music is on a hot streak right now."
One track blowing Mayer's mind? Timberlake's "LoveStoned/I Think She Knows Interlude."
"Not so much for the 'LoveStoned' part, but for the 45 seconds of ultimate sonic bliss that is 'I Think She Knows,'" writes Mayer. "It's J.T.'s breakthrough moment as an artist; a novel mix of Coldplay guitar lines, hip hop beats and a vocal approach somewhere in between."
When the song comes on, Mayer adds, "I spend the first 3:30 [minutes] preparing for the awesomeness to come. Then I yell at the speakers, 'Make this 4 minutes long and put it on the next disc!'"
