Hilary Duff's hockey-star boyfriend, Mike Comrie, has passed the all-important sister test.
"I think he's great and so special," big sis Haylie, 22, told PEOPLE at the Guess/Conde Nast Movies Rock party in LA on Nov. 29. "I love him. He's a really great guy."
Hilary and Comrie – a 27-year-old player for the New York Islanders – have been dating for less than a year. But Comrie is already known for his over-the-top displays of devotion. In September, he “surprised” Hilary with a $100,000 Mercedes for her 20th birthday.
"He's good to her," added Haylie. "That's all I care about."
