Snoop Dogg may not be the strictest dad in the world, but he has established firm ground rules in at least one area: when his 8-year-old daughter Cori can expect to start dating.

Snoop, 36, appeared with Cori on Tuesday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and when the host asked if he's a strict father, Cori quickly said he wasn't.

To which Snoop said: "You say I'm not strict. Tell Ellen how old you have to be before you can have a boyfriend."

"Seventy-seven," Cori admitted just as quickly.

Snoop (real name: Calvin Broadus) saves his truly tough love for his other kids: the ones on his little-league football team. The musician coaches the team five days a week, four months out of the year, and all that effort paid off on Monday, when the team won its league's Super Bowl.

"I'm so excited, I'm finally able to breathe again," he told DeGeneres. "That's my love, that's my joy. That's my No.-1 excitement is coaching those kids on the football field."

The secret to winning, he said, is to set goals and not let the kids off the hook in their pursuit of them.

"I'm hard. I cuss 'em out," he said. "But my philosophy is, I pick on them, and then I pick them up. That's what I do, to let them know that I expect more out of them, because they're better than that."

Despite his occasional run-ins with the law, Snoop says he's a great influence on the kids.

"I'm like the best example for them," he said, "to show them how someone can come out of a negative background and create a positive avenue for themselves."
