The California housing slump has not hit everyone: Ellen DeGeneres has unloaded the Santa Barbara County estate she bought last year for 27 percent more than she paid for it, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Still, the TV host, 49, didn't get everything she had asked for. Having put the property on the market in March for $24 million, the actual deal closed for $20 million, according to the newspaper.
Fifteen months ago, DeGeneres paid $15.75 million for the compound, which includes four bedrooms and a 5,000-bottle wine cellar inside a 1926 Mediterranean home – and is near the 40-acre Montecito estate of Oprah Winfrey.
DeGeneres showed off her house for sale on her TV show and hawked it on her Web site.
Ellen's other real-estate deal was the recent purchase of Will & Grace co-creator Max Mutchnick's furnished home in Beverly Hills.
