Scott Weiland Facing Jail Time for DUI
The Los Angeles City Attorney's office is also alleging that the Velvet Revolver singer, 40, refused to take a chemical test as required by law.
If convicted, Weiland faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. His car could also be impounded for up to 30 days. However, City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan adds that Weiland faces "a minimum penalty of eight days in jail."
His arraignment is set for Thursday.
Weiland was arrested Nov. 11 in the San Fernando Valley after failing a field sobriety test. Police say he later refused to take a blood or urine test after he was booked at Van Nuys Jail.
