After collapsing on stage
in Sweden, Liza Minnelli was advised by a doctor to return to New York for additional medical attention, her rep said Friday.
"She became very ill shortly after the show began," rep Liz Rosenberg says in a statement about Wednesday's concert. "Ms. Minnelli ... had complained of dizziness prior to the start of the show. As a result, she was unable to finish her performance, and was rushed back to her hotel by her manager."
The 61-year-old Cabaret
star was performing the last of four shows in Sweden as part of her world tour.
"A doctor, upon examining her, and in consultation with her NY physician, determined that it would be necessary for the Oscar-winning actress and singer to immediately return to New York City to receive further medical evaluation," the statement says.
