On Dec. 25, the 81-year-old royal will deliver her annual Christmas Day message, known as the Queen's Speech, on her very own – and very English – YouTube channel, which contains a catalogue of royal video archives.
But if you can't wait to hear what she says, you'll find a preview on YouTube's The Royal Channel in the form of the Her Majesty's first televised Christmas speech, which was broadcast over the British airwaves in 1957.
"Today is another landmark because television has made it possible for many of you to see me in your own homes on Christmas Day," she says in the archived footage. "My own family often gather round to watch television as they are at this moment and that is how I imagine you now. I very much hope this new medium will make this Christmas message more personal and more direct."
No word on whether she'll site down and watch herself on YouTube, but according to Reuters, Buckingham Palace revealed this week that the queen likes to sneak off from the rest of her family on Christmas Day and watch her recorded message alone, judging for herself how she comes across.
