Arrests Due in Miss Puerto Rico Pepper Spraying
Two beauty-pageant employees allegedly involved in the pepper-spraying of beauty queen Ingrid Marie Rivera's belongings at the Nov. 24 Miss Puerto Rico contest are expected to be arrested within the coming days, say San Juan police.

Facing likely arrest are alleged backers of a rival to Rivera: the pageant's security director and the catwalk coordinator, said police spokesman Lt. Eddie Hernandez, reports the Canadian Press.

Beating 29 rivals, Rivera took home the crown and the chance to vie in the Miss Universe pageant, to be held in Vietnam next July. Throughout the November competition, Rivera was composed while appearing before the cameras and panel of judges.

But once off-camera, she was forced to shed her clothes and apply ice bags to her face and body, which twice swelled and broke out in hives.
