"We Are Stoked!"

For Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves, it's time to rearrange the surfboards and make room for a crib. Yup, People's 2005 Sexiest Man Alive is about to become one cool daddy – and he couldn't be happier. "Camila and I made a baby together . . . it's three months growin' in her womb," the actor announced on his Web site (matthewmcconaughey.com) on Jan. 15. "We are stoked and wowed."

Wowed also sums up his mom's reaction when he called her at home in Texas in the middle of the night in November with the news. As Kay McConaughey tells PEOPLE, "He said, 'Mom, are you ready?' And I said, 'What?' And he said, 'Camila and I are going to have a baby.' And I go, 'Oh, that's wonderful!' Then I said, 'So when are y'all getting married?'"

Harsh, dude. But as Kay reminded him on the phone, " 'This is a question that 76-year-old mothers ask, Matthew.' He knows how happy I am," she notes. "He said, 'You were the first person we called, and I just want you to be happy.' And he said, 'Mom, this is a love child.' Isn't that beautiful"?
