Report: Video Shows Amy Winehouse Doing Drugs
01/22/2008 AT 11:35 AM EST
In the footage, revealed Tuesday by the U.K.'s The Sun, the newly blond "Rehab" singer is seen smoking what the paper claims is a crack pipe.
During a portion of the video, Winehouse mumbles about a feline friend: "If I was that cat I'd leave on my own accord – I'd call a cab. It ain't right. This ain't Toys R Us. They took my cat."
When friends ask her to go out with them early Friday morning, the dazed and confused Grammy-nominated performer replies: "I'd be useless to you because I've had about six Valium."
Although only portions of the tape are available online, the Sun claims it also has images of her doing more drugs.
A rep for the singer had no comment on the story, and police say no investigation has been launched at this time.
Universal Records released this statement: "We are deeply disappointed and upset by these latest revelations and are doing everything we can to offer Amy our full support in dealing with her problems."
The apparent binge came just hours before Winehouse, 24, stumbled into court to support her imprisoned husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, who is awaiting trial on assault and conspiracy charges. After the procedural hearing, the visibly shaky singer was photographed being supported by her mother-in-law, Georgette Civil.
Winehouse, who is currently contesting a marijuana charge in Norway, recently returned from a vacation to the Caribbean resort town of Mustique. After canceling all her gigs at the end of 2007, she's slated to return to the stage for this weekend's NRJ Music Awards, where she's planning to sing "You Know I'm No Good" from her Back to Black album.
In February, she's slated to attend – and perform – at the Grammy Awards, where she's up for six awards. However, her pending drug case in Norway could cause visa problems with the U.S.
The British press has a history of such exposés: In September 2005, The Mirror ran photos of Kate Moss allegedly snorting cocaine.
