• Angelina Jolie, supervising as son Maddox, 6, kicked a soccer ball up and down the aisles at Big 5 Sporting Goods in Studio City, Calif. As their budding soccer star had a field day, Brad Pitt took son Pax, 4, to scope out backpacks. Pitt showed his son how to affix a water bottle to the bag as Pax tried one out for size. Later, the family reunited and continued browsing in the store.
•Several days later, Pitt, in a grey fisherman cap, was spotted doing some business at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont. The actor met over glasses of Perrier with his associates for just over an hour.
• Miley Cyrus, visiting young patients at Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas after performing at the MGM Grand. During her time at the hospital, the teen sensation gladly posed for photos and signed autographs.
• Also in Vegas: John Mayer, partying with a large group of friends at Tryst. The singer was spotted dancing around and shaking hands with guests. According to staff members, Mayer was "truly a class act."
• Colin Farrell, egging on hordes of people outside Bon Appetit Supper Club in Park City, Utah, by continuing to spread rumors that U2 might perform. Instead, Bono was sitting warmly inside, feasting on a New Orleans-themed dinner prepared by chef John Besh to celebrate the band's film, U2 3D. Guests (including Al Gore, Woody Harrelson and Farrell) dined on crispy fried oysters, turtle soup and more Creole-inspired delicacies. But there was a live performance . . . just not that night. Two nights later, John Legend performed at the Supper Club at an dinner attended by Josh Grobin and others.

• Meg Ryan, buzzing around the Hollywood Life House at a party for her latest film The Deal. The actress schmoozed with costar William H. Macy (he also cowrote the screenplay) – who hung with wife Felicity Huffman at the bustling bash.
