Allegra Versace Recovering from Anorexia

When Allegra Versace arrived at her mother Donatella's runway show in Milan on Jan. 13, even fashionistas who revere thinness couldn't help but be happy to see that she had put on some weight. In March 2007 her family announced that Allegra, 21, was in treatment for anorexia in Los Angeles, where she had been a student. Both she and her parents (dad is Donatella's estranged husband, Paul Beck) "were committed to a full recovery," a family friend tells PEOPLE. Seeing Allegra looking healthy "answered all Donatella's prayers." Now the heiress (who inherited 50 percent of her late uncle Gianni Versace's empire) "is doing great," says the source. "Anorexia is a disease that you never fully recover from, but she is well on her way to a very healthful and bright future."
