GMA's Robin Roberts Sheds Her Wig for Fashion Show

Looking stunning in a red sequin Isaac Mizrahi gown, Robin Roberts owned the runway Thursday morning at the Isaac Mizrahi studio fashion show on ABC's Good Morning America.

Roberts, who's battling breast cancer, was a natural inspiration, strutting down the runway with courage, charisma – and no wig.

Taking the plunge and committing to her colleagues' dare to hit the catwalk (part of GMA's "I Dare You" segment), Roberts, who then chose to go wigless, tells PEOPLE: "When I first heard about their dare I was like 'No way!' because I have felt anything but beautiful going through this battle with cancer. And then I thought, 'heck yeah!' What better way to get my mojo back? It really helped because I'm in the window between after chemo and [starting] radiation on Monday. So I wanted one last little hoorah."

Mizrahi tells PEOPLE of Roberts's runway debut, "I think she should consider quitting her job and being a model. She's tall, she really has a beautiful body and she's really pretty. She has a very commanding presence about her."

As for Roberts' opinion of her debut, she joked, "I was thinking, 'Please do not fall,' a la Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. Do not be runway roadkill."
