Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland is voluntarily seeking treatment at a rehab facility, according to

Velvet Revolver's management released a statement to the site confirming the rocker, 40, "voluntarily entered a rehab facility" after the band's Los Angeles performance on Wednesday, prompting the group to cancel Thursday night's scheduled show in San Diego. "Velvet Revolver deeply apologize to their fans and thank them for sticking by the group," the band said in a statement.

Despite Weiland's rehab stint, plans for Velvet Revolver's Australian tour will continue. "We have not been told that the tour has been affected and right now I can say that it is still 100 percent going ahead," Australian promoter Chris O'Brien said of the tour which starts Feb. 15.

Weiland, who has been in and out of jail and rehab since 1995, was charged with one count of driving under the influence of drugs with a prior conviction last winter. The charge stems from the former Stone Temple Pilots singer's arrest last November after he crashed his car and failed sobriety tests in Southern California's San Fernando Valley. Police say he later refused to a blood or urine test after his booking at Van Nuys jail.
