Comedian Larry the Cable Guy, who shed 50 lbs. since last year, jokes he's lost so much weight "I'm down an Olsen!"

To celebrate his weight loss, which he achieved on the NutriSystem diet, "I immediately took my wife out to eat and had everything I'm not supposed to," says the Blue Collar comedian, whose new big-screen comedy, Witless Protection, opens Friday.

These days Larry (real name: Dan Whitney) works out twice a day and travels with a personal trainer while on tour. "I do weights, 50 minutes of cardio and then another 50 minutes of cardio at night," he says.

He blames his wife Cara's recent pregnancy – they welcomed daughter Reagan in October and have a son Wyatt, 18 months – for contributing to his weight gain, which topped out at 282 lbs.

"She'd crave a double cheeseburger, order two bites of it and then I'd eat the rest," he says. "I couldn't let it go to waste!"

Now that he's slimmed down, he jokes that he's gunning for PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive title: "I look like Matt Damon. From behind."
