Behind the Seams
Two days before Jill Stuart's Feb. 4 fashion show, Hilary Swank visited the designer's showroom and liked an outfit so much, Stuart yanked the look from the runway show and custom-fit it for the star. It was delivered to Swank's hotel at midnight the night before the show so she could wear it in the front row.
FASHION WEEK HERO
Diagnosed with breast cancer just 12 hours after giving birth last year, Sass & Bide designer Heidi Middleton had to cancel her spring show. But on Feb. 2 the Brisbane native, 36, made a triumphant—and cancer-free—return to the runway. Says Middleton: "I feel happier, healthier and more alive than ever."
Sunday morning seems an unlikely time to suck it all in, but that's exactly what celebs like Joy Bryant and Mandy Moore did at the Hervé Léger show Feb. 3 (below). Best known for its skintight bandage dresses, the label showcased its first collection under designer Max Azria. "There's no hiding in it," says Moore. "It hugs every part of your body."
