Two days before Jill Stuart's Feb. 4 fashion show, Hilary Swank visited the designer's showroom and liked an outfit so much, Stuart yanked the look from the runway show and custom-fit it for the star. It was delivered to Swank's hotel at midnight the night before the show so she could wear it in the front row.
FASHION WEEK HERO
Diagnosed with breast cancer just 12 hours after giving birth last year, Sass & Bide designer Heidi Middleton had to cancel her spring show. But on Feb. 2 the Brisbane native, 36, made a triumphant—and cancer-free—return to the runway. Says Middleton: "I feel happier, healthier and more alive than ever."

Rihanna made the fashion rounds, promoting the tank she designed for H&M's Fashion Against AIDS collection Jan. 31, popping by Proenza Schouler and Max Azria's shows Feb. 4, and launching her totes umbrella line Feb. 5. "I have to put aside a few hours just to shop," she said. "I love Intermix and H&M."
