Mario Lopez to Make Broadway Debut
His stint starts April 15 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, in the role of the show-within-the-show's director Zach – essentially a non-singing part that does require he demonstrate for the others in the cast the steps he wants them to do.
He'll play through Sept. 7, according to reps for the producers.
"Every actor dreams about appearing on a Broadway stage. I have as well, and have been searching for the right time and opportunity," Lopez, 34, said in a statement.
The Extra TV host, who first rose to fame as A.C. Slater on Saved By the Bell, adds: "A Chorus Line is a legendary musical, and I am so honored to have been chosen to join the amazing cast and be a part of the Broadway family."
