LaBeouf, 21, was not in the courtroom when attorney Michael Norris entered the plea for the misdemeanor offense before Commissioner Kirkland Nyby. A pretrial hearing was set for April 24, says Superior Court rep Allan Parachini.
Nyby had issued the bench warrant Tuesday when neither the Transformers star (next due in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) nor his attorney appeared as scheduled.
The details of LaBeouf's illegal puffing were not known. His rep didn't immediately comment.
