Tokio Hotel Lead Singer Undergoing Vocal-Cord Surgery
Tokio Hotel has been forced to cancel their sold-out tour while the lead singer undergoes surgery.
Bill Kaulitz, lead singer of the German rock band, was diagnosed with a cyst on his vocal chords, the Bild newspaper reported Tuesday. "Bill had been treated by a physician early last week for an inflammation of his vocal cords," Tokio Hotel producer and manager David Jost told the German newspaper, adding, "A further examination revealed swelling on one of the vocal cords that was hindering recovery. The cyst has to be surgically removed this week."
That means that the band's sold-out European tour, which includes concert dates in Italy, Sweden, Slovenia, Serbia, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Germany, had to be canceled.
After the operation, Bill will have to recuperate for several weeks –with no singing – in order to ensure full recovery of his vocal cords.
