Picks and Pans Review: How Owen Can Get His Onscreen Groove Back

UPDATED 03/31/2008 at 01:00 AM EDT Originally published 03/31/2008 at 01:00 AM EDT

1. He needs to pick comedies more carefully, passing on moronic soul-sappers such as Drillbit Taylor and You, Me and Dupree while opting for more Wedding Crashers (left, with Rachel McAdams).

2. There's a sharp edge to Wilson's wackiness that he needs to explore more onscreen. He could be the next Jack Nicholson.

3. He was hauntingly good in The Minus Man, a 1999 indie drama in which he played a sunny serial killer. Okay, so it was little-seen, but Wilson should challenge himself with more films like that.
