At a concert Wednesday night at Queen's College in New York, Nicole Richie's boyfriend told the crowd of 1,700 students, "You know, no matter how many beautiful girls there are in this audience, I must confess that three months ago, I had a little baby girl, and she's my one and only true love."
The confession, coming after the group's emotional song "Hold On (If You Feel Like Letting Go)," elicited a resounding "aww" from the audience.
Madden was also keeping a watchful eye on Richie, 26, who was backstage, glancing at her after each song. Before the group sang "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl," for example, he pointed in Richie's direction.
"Before I left on tour," Joel continued, "We've been on tour about a month now, I used to sing songs to [Harlow] every day. And there's a band she really likes, it's called The Cure. Big Cure fan. So I've learned all their songs and we'll sing one tonight. This is called 'Love Song.'" Talk about being a daddy's girl!
