Mariah Carey's Album Debuts at No. 1 | Mariah Carey
It doesn't take Einstein to figure out that Mariah Carey's latest album E=MC2 would do well following the No. 1 success of her single "Touch My Body."

But how well did it do? Carey's new album came in at No. 1 on the Billboard pop charts – marking her sixth time at the top spot. She also sold more albums in her first week than ever before – 462,971 copies.

It also means that Carey is now tied with Janet Jackson and Madonna – right behind Barbra Streisand, who has eight – for the female artist with the most No. 1 albums.

Earlier this month, Carey beat Elvis Presley by scoring her eighteenth No. 1 single with "Touch My Body," besting The King who last had a No. 1 single with 1969's "Suspicious Minds." Now only the Beatles, who have 20, stand in her way.
