Picks and Pans Review: Aida Turturro Janice Soprano Hits the ER

Tony Soprano's fearsome sister plays it milder as an ailing mom in her guest role (concluding May 8) on the NBC drama.

ARE YOU MORE LIKE JANICE OR THIS SWEET SOCCER MOM? I was never like Janice! No violence for me—well, if a New York cabbie gives me a hard time, I am completely Janice.

WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF PLAYING AN ER PATIENT? The ride on the gurney, when they took me from the accident scene into the ambulance and then into the ER. I thought, "Oh, great. I get to lie down." But having that big neck brace on you and all you can look at is the ceiling, I was getting claustrophobic!

WHAT DID YOU DO BETWEEN TAKES? I'm just learning e-mail. I'm sending messages—"I'm on ER!"
