Mark Ronson, who worked with Winehouse on her Grammy-winning Back to Black album, was asked by Sky News if the theme for the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, would be made. His reply was disheartening for fans of the chanteuse.
"I don't think so, unless by some miracle of science it gets recorded and someone sings a vocal on it so probably not," he told Sky News in an exclusive interview. "We did work on it but we never finished it so that's about it."
Just a week ago Ronson was upbeat about the song, telling the BBC, "Hopefully it will get used. We're working on it and we'll see happens." But that coincided with Winehouse's temporary incarceration over assault claims.
Asked if anything else would be coming from the talented but troubled singer, Ronson was pessimistic. "We tried to work for a little bit. I'm not sure she's ready to work on music yet," he said.
