There's a new man in Bernadette Peters's life: Kramer, a handsome mixed breed she adopted from a New York City ASPCA. But her love of Kramer's fellow orphaned pooches prompted the Tony winner and her pal, Mary Tyler Moore, to form Broadway Barks, a group that for the past 10 years has helped others take home rescue dogs from shelters.
Earlier this week, at a glittery gathering that brought out Angela Lansbury and Joan Rivers, Moore hosted a party for Peters's brand new children's book about Kramer, titled Broadway Barks and whose sales go to benefit the pets group. Also included is a CD of Peters's lullaby to her furry pal – which the star lovingly sang on Friday's edition of The View.
