Listen to Scarlett Johansson's Album Studio Sessions
Scarlett Johansson recently described her singing voice as tinkerbell on cough syrup.
Judge for yourself.
Fans of the actress-turned-singer can take an online listen to five songs from her new album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, due to be released May 20 on Rhino Records.
With tousled hair pulled back, the un-glammed actress (jeans, sleeveless summer pinafore), 23, croons covers of the Tom Waits tunes "Falling Down," "Anywhere I Lay My Head," "Green Grass," "Who Are You" and "Yesterday Is Here" with video taken from studio sessions in Louisiana with her equally un-glam band.
The surprise? That Jonhasson – so blonde and ethereal-looking – sings in a very monotone, alto, throaty chant.
The verdict?
So far, listeners on the web site have given Johansson a five-star rating.
