As a soon-to-be mom, Jessica Alba
has been engaging in some time-honored third-trimester behavior, including nesting (she just completed her eco-friendly nursery), marveling at her bountiful bump and batting around baby names. On May 19 the actress checked off the biggest task on her to-do list: marrying her fiancé of five months, Cash Warren. Entering the Beverly Hills Municipal Court around noon, Alba—wearing a long blue dress, her hair in a ponytail—"looked happy but nervous," says an observer. The pair then exchanged vows officiated by a court staffer, and a day later Alba's rep confirmed the news. While the couple had mulled a fall wedding, they're clearly content to keep things low-key for now. "When I was a little girl, it was all about the princess fairy tale," Alba told PEOPLE of her dream wedding earlier this year. "But life is changing every day, and I'm just going with it."
For Alba, 27, and Warren, 31, a producer-entrepreneur, the timing is just right. Marriage "is the biggest commitment you can make, and he's the best man in the world for me," Alba said in January. "When I first met him, it's not that I thought, 'Oh, this is the guy I'm going to marry.' But it was a very comfortable feeling. He balances me." For his part, Warren told PEOPLE, "I've got an amazing girl."
With their baby soon to arrive—they are expecting a girl—Alba is embracing her dual roles as a new wife and a new mom. "I feel," she says, "super blessed."
