First it was checks and now his charity is in question. Anne Hathaway's boyfriend, Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri, is under investigation by the New York State Attorney General, which has no record of IRS tax disclosure forms necessary for his foundation.
The Follieri Foundation, for which Hathaway at one time served on the board of directors, reportedly does such work as vaccinating children in Third World countries.
"There is an investigation going on that does not involve Anne," according to Stephen Huvane, publicist for the Devil Wears Prada and Get Smart star, 25. "She is no longer a board member of the Follieri Foundation. Other than that we will not be commenting."
Follieri, 29, could not be reached for comment.
Matt Glazer, spokesman for Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, confirmed the examination, which was first reported by the New York Post, but offered no further comment.
Last month, the Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to prosecute Follieri after his arrest in April for allegedly writing a $215,000 bad check.
