Guests danced to tracks like Prince's "Kiss" and Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved" spun by Lindsay Lohan pal DJ Samantha Ronson, as the birthday girl grabbed a microphone and called people to the floor. Lohan sat close to the deejay booth early on, but left before most guests arrived at the Hollywood Hills mansion at 11 p.m.
On Solange's request, Ronson kept the tunes in the family, playing nearly every hit in Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z's catalogs including "Big Pimpin'" (as Solange played a tambourine and Beyoncé showed off her best moves) and "Dirt Off Your Shoulder." When Beyoncé's "Get Me Bodied" played, revelers circled around the Knowles sisters as they reenacted dance moves from the song's video.
Champagne flowed as guests noshed on barbecue chicken, cornbread, greens and mac and cheese (served buffet-style). Rock band Chester French took the stage playing an instrumental version of "What About Dre," and finished their set with a rocked out version of "Happy Birthday." Sugar Mama's cupcakes with large white candles were passed through the crowd as everyone sang to Solange, who blew out the candles and banged on her tambourine.
