Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine shares a surprising obsession with Women's Health magazine: Yoga.

"Yoga is by far the most convenient way to exercise while I'm on the road," says the rocker, who will head out on tour with Maroon 5 and the Counting Crows at the end of July. "You don't need anything but a few feet of space and a mat."

The singer says he was initially skeptical about the "the clichés associated" with the practice – but has been converted by how it makes him feel.

Initially, Levine, 29, tried yoga to help his "flexibility issues," tightness in his lower back, hips and hamstrings. After the first class he said he "instantly felt sculpted," but that during the session it "felt like someone was ripping my body apart."

The rocker assures that "the torture subsided over time," and that it has proved to be much more "satisfying physically" than lifting weights, which he'd been doing for years.

Levine's yoga advice? "Start simple" and don't be afraid to mark it as a social priority on your calendar. "Let's face it," jokes Levine, "I only practice yoga because the classes are always packed with beautiful women."
