Despite a momentous reunion on the red carpet for the Swedish premiere of the Mamma Mia! movie, one founding member of the iconic '70s group vowed that the band's performing days are over – forever.
"We will never appear on stage again," Björn Ulvaeus, 63, said in an interview with the U.K.'s Sunday Telegraph. "There is simply no motivation to regroup. Money is not a factor and we would like people to remember us as we were. Young, exuberant, full of energy and ambition."
Sounds like fans will have to make do with the new film, which stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth and features 22 of the band's signature songs.
"Meryl Streep is a goddess," Ulvaeus says. "To hear her delivering the songs with all the emotion we put in the lyrics is more than we could have dreamed of."
