Dennis Farina Pleads No Contest to Carrying Gun at LAX | Dennis Farina
Law & Order star Dennis Farina pleaded no contest Thursday for carrying a loaded .22-caliber handgun in his briefcase through Los Angeles International Airport security.

Farina was sentenced to two years probation, but the term will be dismissed after a year if he successfully completes it. The actor was also ordered to pay $510 in fines, plus penalties.

Two other misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed firearm and carrying a loaded weapon in public were dismissed.

Farina, 64, was arrested on May 11 after airport screeners found the gun as he prepared to board a plane.

The actor explained to airport police that he had forgotten the gun was there before he drove to L.A. from Arizona for a flight to Chicago.

His rep had no comment.
