"I like elaborate," Carey told MTV News, of her plans for her upcoming tour to promote her album E=MC2. "We only do substantial. That's what my jeweler says. I haven't gotten the looks in mind just yet, but we're going to figure it out soon enough."
She also revealed the tour will likely kick off in late fall. "We're looking at November right now. [But] please don't hold me accountable if it turns out to be December 5 or December 7 or January 18!"
Before that, though, Carey will appear at the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 4 and at Fashion Rocks on Sept. 5.
She also hopes to attend MTV's VMAs – where she'd love to finally win.
"I don't own a Moonman [from] this country," said the oft-nominated star, who has won MTV Japan awards.
Nominations for the VMAs have yet to be announced, but Carey's fans are campaigning for her online.
"I have faith in my fans," she says. "I believe they will come through for me, because they always have. My house is not complete without an American Moonman."
As for wedded bliss, "life is beautiful, and things are going well," she says, debunking rumors that her two-month marriage to Cannon is on the rocks.
"I'm like, 'Why would we have gotten married to do that?' " the newlywed said. "I'm ecstatic, so be ecstatic with me! Be happy with me. Can we celebrate?"
