"After being compared to Jay Leno for so long, you don't think of yourself in that way," Willis, 19, tells Page Six Magazine.
In fact, the actress, whose dad is Bruce Willis and mom is Demi Moore, says some coverage of her has been downright nasty.
"It's shocking how unbelievably mean people are – not just the people who are writing stuff, the people who make comments," she tells the magazine. "For awhile I read that stuff, and it was upsetting, I'd get really down on myself, which is debilitating. Now I think, 'Do you really have nothing better to do?'"
But the actress's home life has always kept her grounded, she said, especially given how her parents – as well as step-dad Ashton Kutcher – have remained such good friends.
"My dad and Ashton get along. It's not weird," Willis says. "I'm so lucky. There's no jealousy or drama."
She even thinks her family, including sisters, Scout, 16, and Tallulah, 14, was made for TV. "If we weren't all entirely morally opposed to doing a reality show, I guarantee it would be the best-selling reality show ever," she says.
Willis stars in the new film, House Bunny, which hits theaters Aug. 22.
