>A breast-cancer survivor, the producer of the Spider-Man
films has put together a star-packed telethon, Stand Up to Cancer
, airing Sept. 5 simultaneously on ABC, CBS and NBC.
YOU HAVE BIG NAMES LIKE JENNIFER ANISTON
AND CHARLIZE THERON
ONBOARD. WHAT ELSE CAN VIEWERS EXPECT? There will be music, humor and tears. And the stars will be available on the phone for people to talk to.
HOW DID YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE WITH CANCER AFFECT YOUR OUTLOOK? It made me angry that we're not doing better. I didn't know that 1,500 people die every day from cancer. Every day.
WILL YOU APPEAR TOO? Oh, no. Smart producing is all about surrounding yourself with really, really talented people.
