"I think he made a great decision," Reuben Cannon told PEOPLE of Cannon's four-month-old marriage to Mariah Carey, at Friday's TAG Records Official MTV VMA Kickoff party in Hollywood.
Reuben, a musician, says older brother Nick was ready for a commitment. "When you're a celebrity at a young age like he was, you've seen so much."
And multi-platinum recording artist Carey, 39, has been welcomed into Cannon's family with open arms.
"It's just a privilege to have her as part of the Cannon family," Reuben says. "I love Mariah. Who doesn't love Mariah Carey?"
As for his own life, Reuben says that his big brother Nick is always supportive. "Whenever I feel frustrated, I just hit him up [for] big brother advice."
