Paul McCartney's ex-wife – who received a nearly $50 million divorce settlement in March – is slamming reports that claim she's planning to write a novel loosely based on her own life with a plot that reportedly centers around a model who marries a world-famous rock star.
"These book rumors are nonsense," Mills, 40, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I am trying to move on, spend time with my daughter and get on with my charitable work. It's been a terrible period for everyone."
Mills, who recently moved to New York City, also lashed out at reports claiming she was dropped from Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice even before the show started, because she wanted to be guaranteed a spot in the final round.
"These rumors are rubbish," Mills tells PEOPLE. "Donald asked me to go on the show months ago and I was flattered, but I declined immediately because I have commitments to my daughter, Beatrice, in the U.K., which wouldn't have allowed me three months to appear on the show. We never got close to the contract stage."
