Taylor Swift Blogs About New Single, CMA Nomination
The country singer is set to debut the music video for her latest single "Love Story" Friday night on CMT (8:30 p.m. ET), and Swift, 18, can't contain her enthusiasm.
"I wrote that one by myself, so I'm extra excited that it's the first single," Swift writes of the newly-released song in a post on her MySpace blog. "And the video debuts TONIGHT on CMT!!!! Ahhhhh I can't wait for you all to see it!"
The lead-off single from her upcoming album Fearless, due in stores Nov. 11, is about "a love that you've got to hide because for whatever reason it wouldn't go over well," the singer tells Billboard in a new interview. "I relate to it more as a love that you cannot really elaborate on – a love that maybe society wouldn't accept [or] maybe your friends wouldn't accept."
The country crooner has been romantically linked with Joe Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, though she has never publicly confirmed their relationship. In August, she told PEOPLE, "He's an amazing guy and anybody would be lucky to be dating him."
One thing Swift does reveal – well, sort of – is her concept for the song's video.
"It's different than all the ones we've made in the past," she writes, adding coyly, "we may be going back in time for this video. Maybe. Not that I'm hinting at anything. At all."
Recently nominated for a Country Music Association Award (for female vocalist of the year), Swift blogs about the honor, writing, "I didn't expect to be nominated in that category, so I was really shocked.
Continued Swift: "Being in a category with Carrie [Underwood], Miranda [Lambert], Alison [Krauss], and Martina [McBride] feels so unreal. Those are my heroes. I look up to them so much. This has been such an incredible week!"
