Serena Williams to Pen Memoir

Fresh off her U.S. Open win, Serena Williams is set to serve up her first memoir, which her publisher says will feature "a motivational slant."

Slated to be released in 2009 by Grand Central Publishing, the book will offer Williams's "physical and emotional setbacks," the publisher said in a statement to the Associated Press.

In 2007, Williams, 26, told PEOPLE of her temporary tennis slump a year earlier, "I went through a lot ... but I am totally on my own now. I'm always going to just be Serena."
