Hulk Hogan's son Nick Bollea is getting out of jail nearly three months early with credits for good behavior and working, PEOPLE has learned.
Bollea, who has been serving an eight-month sentence
at Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, Fla., for reckless driving that led to an accident with injuries, is due to be released Oct. 21.
The early release follows standard procedures for all inmates.
"They automatically get credits towards early release, and if they don't do anything bad while they're here, they get to use the credits," says a jail official who did not want to be identified.
Bollea was sentenced for his role in a car accident
last year in which his passenger, 22-year-old John Graziano, was seriously injured.
Bollea's sister, Brooke Hogan, tells PEOPLE that she is looking forward to her brother being released.
"I'm not sure where he'll live. I think he's going to do his own thing," said Hogan, who was attending the anniversary party for Strike Miami, a ritzy bowling alley in Miami.
Graziano's lawyer George Tragos of St. Petersburg, Fla., said he is not surprised to hear that Hogan is getting out early.
"It's standard procedure," he tells PEOPLE. "There is no way for us to impact his release date, that's not within our control. It's a formula worked out by the sheriff."
