Chapman, 45, composed music for the wedding ceremony held on the front lawn, including the songs to which the bridesmaids and he and Emily walked down the aisle.
He had been working on the wedding music the day Maria Sue – one of three young daughters Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth, adopted from China – was accidentally struck and killed by an SUV driven by her brother, Will.
Maria Sue's memory wasn't far away on Saturday. Another brother, Caleb, performed Steven’s song "Cinderella" – a bittersweet tune about his daughters that took special meaning after the little girl’s death – as Emily and her father danced together.
Emily, who works for the family's adoption charity, Shaohannah’s Hope, had gotten engaged only days before the tragedy. Maria Sue was buried in the dress she would have worn as a flower girl.
