Ryan O'Neal's Son Admits to Relapse, Heads for Rehab

Redmond O'Neal, who was arrested along with his father Ryan O'Neal for suspected drug possession, admitted in an L.A. court Wednesday to a drug relapse and was ordered into a two-week treatment program.

"You're a stand-up guy to come here and deal with your problem," Superior Court Judge Scott Millington told O'Neal. "I want you to stay clean. ... You better stay clean or the hammer is going to fall."

Redmond, 23, who at the time of his arrest was on three years probation for drug possession and DUI, was set to return to court Oct. 23 after completing the program at a UCLA health center.

O'Neal's attorney declined to comment.

After the arrests, an attorney for Ryan O'Neal, 67, said drugs found in the actor's Malibu home did not belong to him and that O'Neal would be "fully vindicated." No criminal charges have been filed yet in the case.
