Sarah Palin's future son-in-law, Levi Johnston, denies he's being forced to marry the GOP veep candidate's daughter, or to campaign, or even to revise his MySpace page.

"None of that's true," the 18-year-old, speaking to a reporter from the Associated Press, said in the driveway of his family's home in Wasilla, Alaska.

He also said of Gov. Palin's 17-year-old daughter Bristol, who is expecting Johnston's child on Dec. 18 (the two are reportedly set to wed next summer), "We both love each other. We both want to marry each other. And that's what we are going to do."

Furthermore, "We were planning on getting married a long time ago with or without the kid."

As for the baby, which Johnston suggested would be a boy, he said, "I'm looking forward to having him. I'm going to take him hunting and fishing. He'll be everywhere with me."

Johnston – who has left high school to work on the North Slope oil fields as an apprentice electrician – does say he was advised by the Palin campaign people to avoid the media immediately following her nomination. But that was then.

"They're not telling me anything right now," he said. "It's pretty chill."

He also said his much-discussed former MySpace page, which contained the sentiments "I'm a ... redneck" and "I don't want kids," was a joke created by friends and he had no hand in it.

Also discussed by Johnston:

Becoming a father: "We're up for it. I'm excited to have my first kid. It's going to be a lot of hard work but we can handle it."

Joining the Palin campaign, including sitting in open view at the convention: "At first, I was nervous. Then I was like, 'Whatever.' "

Barack Obama: "I don't know anything about him. He seems like a good guy. I like him."

Sarah Palin: "I just hope she wins. She's my future mother-in-law. She better win."
