Say this for Daniel Craig – he's a tough man in a tough role.
Having already gone on record
to explain how he tore his shoulder jumping around as James Bond, the Quantum of Solace
star tells Playboy
for its November issue what also sent him to the hospital while making his latest 007 caper.
The visit involved his finger. "It wasn't as extreme as all that. I lost the pad. Here," says the actor, 40, showing off a scab on his fingertip. "This is after a month's healing, so it's nothing."
Well, not entirely nothing. "I was bleeding a lot. I had to get it cauterized. Filming stopped and everybody went, 'Oh my God! He sliced the end of his finger off!' They went looking for it but couldn’t find it."
Fingertip or no, Craig is still remembered fondly by a former costar, Casino Royale
's Eva Green.
The 2006 Bond girl says she can't wait to see the latest, Quantum of Solace
. "I heard it's brilliant," Green, 28, told PEOPLE at the world premiere of her newest movie, Franklyn
"I was very proud of being a Bond girl," she adds, "and I heard this one is really good."
