Kate Gosselin is no stranger to large meals. With 8-year-old twins and 4-year-old sextuplets, the star of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 is used to cooking for 10. Come the holidays, Gosselin will outdo even herself.

"I just love Thanksgiving and Christmas. I feel like Thanksgiving is all about looking at our blessings, being together as a family," Gosselin tells PEOPLE as she signs copies of her Multiple Blessings book at Kmart Monday.

And it's a big family! On the eve of Thanksgiving, Gosselin can be found in her kitchen preparing for at least 15 additional guests.

"The day before I prepare everything to just throw it in the oven. The pies, all the desserts I bake the day before," she says. "Jon requires the same meal every year. I have to bake a pumpkin pie. I'm not real crazy about it but you just have to have one on Thanksgiving."

More importantly, Gosselin says she wants to develop her own holiday family traditions to pass on to her eight kids, which is why you won't just find pumpkin pie on the table. Gosselin also likes to include an egg custard pie and apple pie.

"I want our kids to be able to look back on the holidays and remember very concrete things," she says. "I love to pull it off and I always get carried away. It's just the holiday spirit; it's awesome. I love it."
