"The poll workers here know me," the liberal actor-activist, 50, told The New York Times. "I've been voting here 15 years. ... My name was there for the primaries."
Insisting he be allowed to speak to an official from the city's Board of Elections, Robbins was told he could go to the board's Manhattan office – which he did. Once he was there, board officials verified Robbins was properly registered to vote. Back he went to his polling place.
"I have the time and luxury to do this," Robbins said of the four hours it required him to cast his vote. "If this is a systemic thing, what does that mean for the country?"
Not that he detected a conspiracy against him, given that his partner, the equally liberal and outspoken Susan Sarandon, wasn't met with any difficulty at the same polling place.
