TV and film star Robert J. Wagner, 78, has been acting for five decades—but he's been a real-life leading man even longer, romancing actresses from Elizabeth Taylor ("You can fall in love with her very easily," he says) to his 1953 Titanic costar Barbara Stanwyck, who was 23 years his senior. He's had his share of tragedy as well: The drowning death of actress Natalie Wood (whom Wagner married for the second time in '72) in a freak accident aboard the couple's yacht in '81 left him "catatonic, paralyzed," he says. "It was devastating. But you manage to go on." Married to actress Jill St. John, 68, and dad to Katie, 44, Natasha, 38, and Courtney, 34, Wagner reminisces in his memoir Pieces of My Heart. "All my dreams came true," he says. "I've had an amazing life."
